Hey, everyone, it's Tyler here, and today I'm going to walk you through the process of replacing the chain on an ECHO CS-620P Chainsaw. It's a relatively straightforward task, but I thought I'd share some tips to make it even easier. I've had my fair share of experiences, including putting the chain on backward and ending up with a smoking chainsaw, so let's avoid that!
First things first, ensure you release the chain brake by giving it a click sound. If you skip this step, you might have to realign or readjust the chain brake later. Having your chainsaw tool handy is crucial, and if you've ever bought a chainsaw before, you should have one, if not several.
Now, let's start by releasing a bit of tension on the chain. Using your chainsaw tool, loosen the chain by turning the adjustment screws. Once they're loose, you should be able to remove them by hand. The Echo saw is handy in that the screws don't come all the way out, so no worries about losing them.
After loosening the screws, you can easily remove the bar and chain. Take off the chain and set it aside. If it's still in good condition, you can put it back on later.
Now, here's a crucial point: when putting the chain back, make sure the small teeth are facing forward. If it doesn't reach all the way around, adjust the bar tensioner accordingly.
Now, to tighten the chain, you'll need to loosen the tensioner a bit more, then fit the bar back in. Once it's in place, tighten the chain by turning the adjustment screws to the right.
Remember, righty tighty! As you tighten the chain, spin the nuts to the right to secure everything in place.
And there you have it – that's how you replace the chain on an Echo chainsaw. If you found this helpful, let me know in the comments below. Also, share your preferred chainsaw brands and models. Thanks for watching!"
